Back to back multiple overtime games took its toll for the Meralco Bolts as they lost Game 1 of their best-of-three Quarterfinals matchup between the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados in double overtime, 106-97. Meralco coming from a thrilling 3 overtime win versus Rain or Shine last Wednesday, fell short in the second overtime as they scored only 6 points against the Llamados who scored 15 in the 2nd OT.
Mac Mac Cardona again led Meralco with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists but committed 11 turnovers in 43 minutes of play. Gabby Espinas had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Newcomer Mark Isip who did not score in his first game for the Meralco Bolts contributed 16 points in this game. No other Meralco Bolts player scored in double digits.
Peter June Simon led Derby Ace with 35 points followed by James Yap who scored 27 points.
