The Meralco Bolts got their 1st win in the current PBA Commissioners Cup and it was also the 1st time they beat the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados dating back last conference. Meralco Import Champ Oguchi led Meralco with 29 points and 10 rebounds with 4 crucial 3 pointers in the 4th quarter to take the lead after being down by 10 points in the last 4 minutes of the game.
B-Meg had one last chance to win the game but Kerby Raymundo missed a jumper and Mac Mac Cardona sealed the win with 2 free throws. Asi Taulava led the locals with 15 points and 14 rebounds while the combo of Mac Cardona and Sol Mercado had for 26 points, 13 rebounds, 7assists and 3 steals combined.
It was also the 1st time that Coach Ryan Gregorio beat his former team.
