New Meralco Bolts Import Chamberlain Oguchi made an impressive debut with 43 points but could not lead the Meralco to its 1st win in the PBA Commissioners Cup. Solomon Mercado and Gabby Espinas led the locals with 18 points each but no other player scored in double figures including Mac Cardona with only 8 points.

Talk N Text was led by import Paul Harris with 32 points but had problems guarding Nigerian-American Oguchi.

A putback by San Miguel Beermen Import Ira Brown gave San Miguel a 1-point win against the Meralco Bolts. Meralco now has a 0 win and 3 loss record and needs to win its last 6 games in order to have a chance to advance in the next round and they are trying a new import in their next game, Chamberlain Oguchi, a Nigerian-American who played in the NBA Development League.

Tony Dandridge led Meralco with 23 points in his last game in the PBA Commissioners Cup. It seems that the combination of Mac Cardona and Sol Mercado has not worked well as they combined for only 30 points.
