Meralco welcomes back Marlou Aquino

Marlou Aquino is back with the Meralco Bolts. With the Barako Bull currently on leave of absence, PBA Commissioner Salud approved the request of Marlou Aquino to play again with the Bolts after they traded him last season.

A player cannot be traded back to his previous team in less than a season, but since the Barako Bull leave of absence is a special case, Aquino was considered a Free Agent and was signed by Meralco.

Mac-mac Cardona of the new PBA franchise team Meralco Bolts made a tough shot in the final minute of the game to give Meralco a one-point lead, and help the Bolts win their 1st PBA game vs Barangay Ginebra Kings, 73-72.

Cardona who came from Talk N Text had an all-around game with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and was named best player of the game, special mention goes to Nelbert Omolon who contributed a game high 14 pts and grabbed 14 rebs and rookie Shawn Weinstein, who made big defensive plays in the end game.

Barangay Ginebra had a chance to steal the game with Mac Cardona and Asi Taulava missing two free throws each that gave the chance for Ginebra to win the game but big defensive stops by the Meralco Bolts sealed their 1st win.
