After being down by as much as 16 points in the 1st half, the Meralco Bolts regrouped in the 2nd half as they won their 2nd straight game in the 2012 PBA Philippine Cup by beating the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 95-88 in Digos, Davao del Sur.

5 players scored in double figures for the Bolts led by Macmac Cardona with 21 points and Sol Mercado with 19 points. Mark Borboran contributed 15 points, most in the 3rd quarter as the Bolts took the lead after being down for most of the 1st half. Cliff Hodge was named best player of the game with 13 points and 4 blocks. Meralco now has a 2-1 record.

The high scoring duo of Sol Mercado and Mac Cardona combined for 38 points but no other Meralco player in double figures as the Bolts ended the Elimination Round with its 6th loss against 8 wins. Meralco just scored 27 points in the 1st half and had a hard time scoring in the 4th quarter. Sol Mercado also had 6 rebounds and 9 assists.

Meralco led in rebounding 56-52 with Asi Taulava and Gabby Espinas grabbing 10 and 11 rebounds respectively. Mike Cortez led Ginebra with 14 points and Ronald Tubid and Mark Caguioa both with 13 points.

After losing by 44 points in their last game against ROS, the defense of the Meralco Bolts was back as they stopped Barangay Ginebra Kings, 93-87. Mac Cardona in just his 3rd game back from an injury scored 25 points along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. 5 players scored in double figures for Meralco with Sol Mercado scoring 14 points, Mark Isip with 13 points and Asi Taulava and Gabby Espinas with 11 points and 11 rebounds each.

Meralco Import Tony Dandridge scored 30 points in his debut and Asi Taulava had a double double with 23 points and 10 points but the scoring duo of Mac Cardona (3/14) and Sol Mercado (7/20) struggled from the field as the Meralco Bolts lost their first game in the current PBA Commissioners Cup.
